2024 Football Coaching Staff
Under 10 Coach
Nathan Scurrah
We are excited to announce Nathan Scurrah as our Under 10 coach this Season. Nathan has a wealth of experience with coaching and playing football.
Nathan has Played over 250 senior games of football with Morwell FNC, Yinnar FNC and Thorpdale FNC. He was selected as a part of Morwell’s team of the decade 2001 – 2010.
Nathan coached Senior football at Thorpdale for a period of 2 years, assistant coach at Yinnar for 3 years, Morwell for 2013 premiership along with Morwell eagles football development co-ordinator Harmit Singh and coached Morwell reserves for a year.
Nathan is passionate about seeing the development of junior players. As a club we are so excited to have Nathan coaching the Under 10’s for the 2024 season..
Under 12 Coach
Marty Giddens
We are excited to announce Marty Giddens as one of our Under 12 coaches this Season.
Marty played all of his junior footy at Morwell Tigers and crossed over to Morwell FNC for U18’s. He continued on and played a whopping 350 reserve and senior games at Morwell FNC.
Marty has a passion for developing young talent and we are excited to see the positive impact he will have on our players. We are so excited to have Marty coaching an Under 12’s team for the 2024 season.
Under 12 Coach
Danny Jago
We are excited to announce Danny Jago as one of our Under 12 coaches this Season.
Danny’s first two years of Junior Footy were at Hill End. He spent the rest of his Junior years at Morwell Tigers including interleague. Moved across to play 3rds at Morwell East, and also played for Seniors.
At 19 Danny played Country footy for Railton Tigers in Tasmania, followed by Spreyton Eagles also in Tasmania. After a few years off travelling for work, Danny then commenced playing at Gormandale Tigers in 2015, both Seniors and Reserves.
Danny Finished up with Gormandale in 2022 and dedicated his time to his boys at Morwell Eagles.
Danny is extremely passionate about the game and we are very lucky to have his knowledge and football experience amongst the coaching staff at MJFC this season.
We look forward to having Danny coaching an Under 12’s team for the 2024 season.
Under 14 Coach
Kenny McKay
We are excited to announce Kenny McKay as one of our Under 14 coaches this Season.
Kenny is a familiar face to the kids at MJFC having coached junior football at the club for the past 8 years (including 3 years of running Morwell Auskick Centre).
Kenny has a huge passion for seeing the development of local football and watching the kids improve their skills throughout each season.
He has played around 300 games for Morwell East FNC, Yallourn North FNC, Moe FNC and Woodside FNC and has a great love for the game.
We are so excited to have Kenny coaching an Under 14’s team for the 2024 season.
Under 14 Coach
Ash Shine
We are excited to announce Ash Shine as one of our Under 14 coaches this Season.
Ash is the President for MJFC and has a huge passion for developing not only the players to be the best they can be but also ensuring our club is thriving and moving forward in the right direction. His dedication to junior football is next level.
Ash played his junior football in Newborough and moved into the senior program from a young age. He has assisted with Auskick in both Newborough and Morwell. He was assistant coach to Kenny with the u11s and u12s in 2021 & 2022 and Last year coached one of our u12s sides.
We are so excited to have Ash coaching an Under 14’s team for the 2024 season.
Under 16 Coach
Brad McKay
We are excited to announce Brad McKay as our Under 16 coach this Season.
Brad played all of his junior footy with St Vincent's Junior Football Club and moved on to play some 3rds and 2nds footy with Yinnar FNC.
Brad coached and coordinated Morwell Auskick for 3 seasons and was assistant coach for 2 years for U14s Morwell Eagles.
Brad is looking forward to working with the Under 16’s this season and can’t wait to see what they can achieve.
